Native deciduous tree with compound green foliage, turning vivid yellow in the fall. Small green flowers appear before the leaves in the spring on both male and female trees. On female trees these flowers mature into winged samaras. Smooth gray-green bark becomes gray-brown and furrowed with age. Prefers damp, loose soils of riparian zones, even areas that are occasionally flooded. Growth Rate fast.
