The state of Washington has declared us an “essential” business to serve you and your family.
If you’re feeling a little shut in or cabin fever is making you restless, come to A&R Nursery, put on your walking shoes, and do your “social distancing” in our wide open spaces. We have lots of plants that are blooming, unfurling their leaves and putting on a spring show. Add in some birds singing and it’s the perfect way to get out of the house in a safe location. The hydrangeas are budded and starting to bloom. The spiraeas (such as Gold Flame, Anthony Waterer and Little Prince) are showing lots of color. We also have lots of plants with beautiful foliage colors such as: Black Lace Elderberry, Black Beauty Elderberry, Drops of Gold Holly, Ginger Wine and Summer Wine Ninebark, Lemony Lace Elderberry, Blue Mist Fothergilla and much, much more!
Redspire Flowering Pear and Cleveland Select Pear
With large showy blossoms in a dramatic snowy white, the deciduous Redspire Pear features new leaves that grow in a deep purple and mature to a glossy green with red hints. The Cleveland Select Pear grows in a columnar form, which is perfect for street or yard planting. The showy clusters of gleaming white blooms burst forth in early spring. In summer, the dark green foliage of this deciduous tree impresses, turning a into a purplish red-orange in fall.
This standout has a stunning bloom that looks like a cameo brooch. With large flowers that are reddish purple on the outside and white flushed red-purple on the inside, this impressive tree blooms profusely in early spring, sometimes lasting into summer.
One of the first plants to bloom in the spring, forsythias bring bright, lively color to the garden. Their yellow flowers form in abundance on the branches making it a robust hedge plant.
Budded and ready to burst! This multi-stemmed deciduous shrub has beautiful red, orange, white, or pink flowers and shiny, dark green foliage. Flowering quinces have an easy-to-grow nature that makes it a good choice for barriers or border plantings.
