Common Name: Golden Hinoki Cypress

Chamaecyparis obtusa 'Aurea' - Full size Hinoki is the golden version of the species, a distinctive, handsome tree with spreading, graceful branches. The well-cupped outer sprays and new foliage of this naturally irregular conifer are warm, rich yellow, while interior and older foliage sport a medium green. Attractive, reddish brown bark develops striking texture with age. Prefers moist, well-drained soil with afternoon shade in the summer.
